Who are we?
Why do we care?
We are change makers. We are a group of grade six and seven students who want to make an impact on the way we treat our planet. Our goal is to encourage worldwide awareness and spread kindness.
Instead of traditional rote learning, our class has incorporated service learning into the skills and content required by the ministry of education through project based learning.
In term one, we started with a simple act of kindness. To do this, our class wrote simple, kind, and motivational phrases on the sidewalk outside of our school.
During term two, we each chose a local animal that we wished to learn about and studied the negative effects occurring to them because of humans and found solutions to help.

In our final term, we began studying plastic on a global scale. We learned that the amount of plastic we are using and wasting is not sustainable. We want to teach others how to reuse, reduce, repurpose, and recycle the plastics we use every day.
At the rate we are currently wasting plastic, the world will eventually be drowning in this material. The future of the earth is in our hands, and as a species we need to change the way we act. Our generation as well as future generations should be able to grow up on a healthy planet, but this won’t be possible if we keep abusing plastic. Plastic is being wasted, dumped into the oceans, not recycled, and mass produced. We want to stop it.
Many people may think that this is too big of a challenge for a small group of students, but we are ready to face this plastic problem, and hope you will help. We care about the earth and hope to reduce the amount of non-biodegradable waste that is ruining it.
We want to make a positive impact in our community. For the past few months we have worked exceptionally hard on this project and we would love it if some eco-friendly experts can recognize us! We hope everyone who sees this will join this important cause with us. Please join our movement!
